About

The Cultural Council of Northern Berkshire (CCNB) is comprised of volunteers who are appointed by the 11 municipalities they represent. The municipalities are: Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, Florida, Hancock, Lanesboro, Monroe, New Ashford, North Adams, Savoy, and Williamstown. CCNB receives an annual allocation of state funds from the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) and makes these funds available to the communities through a competitive grant program.

CCNB distributes funds to projects that promote access, education, diversity and excellence in three areas:

ARTS including crafts, performing, visual, media, folk, design, literary, media, and interdisciplinary arts

HUMANITIES: including history, social studies, philosophy, criticism, and literature

INTERPRETIVE SCIENCES: engaging people in learning about nature, science, and technology

In addition to project grants, CCNB also awards one grant each year to an Individual Artist.
